Fund Drive Pick Up and Drop Off Instructions

Brothers,

Once again, I want to thank all of you who stepped up and volunteered to take at least one timeslot in this weekend's special children's fund drive. I apologize for getting this e-mail out so late but John Gray and I spent Thursday evening at the hall setting up for the start of the drive and Dan didn't get this until Friday morning...  Below is a brief list of instructions for picking up and dropping off vests, buckets, money envelopes and posters.

First Shift Friday Morning

Those who have the first shift, stop by the hall between 6:45am and 6:55am to pick up the buckets, vests, money envelopes and posters.

  •           Fred Dellaiacono – (When finished with your shift, put your money in your envelope and leave in the bucket.  James Barry on the next shift will take it with him)

  •           Brian Harris (when finished with shift, bring everything  and drop off at my house)

  •           Bill O'Connor – (After your shift bring just the money envelope home with you and leave the bucket, vest and poster at Shoprite)

  •           Pete Mazzilli – (After your shift bring everything and drop off at my house)

  •           Joe Kuhns - (If you can't get to the hall by 6:45, I will leave the items outside the back door of the hall.  After your shift bring everything home with you)

  Later Shifts:

  •           James Barry – (Since you are the last shift of the day bring everything home with you)

  •           Ray Poggioli – (When your shift is up, bring everything home with you)

  Friday Drop Off at Hall:

At 6pm all volunteers should bring all vests, buckets, money envelopes and posters to the hall.  John Gray will be there to collect everything.  If you cannot make that time, please call John on his cell phone (201-819-4391) and make other arrangements.

First Shift Saturday Morning

Those who have the first shift, stop by the hall between 6:45am and 6:55am to pick up the buckets, vests, money envelopes and posters. John Gray will be there if you have any questions.

When your shift is over, take only the money envelope home with you and leave everything else for the next shift.

Later Shifts:

Go straight to the store to relieve your predecessor.  When your shift is over, take only the money envelope home with you and leave everything for the next shift.

5pm Mass Collections:

Just go to the church as everything will already be there.  When the collection is over, place all of the money into one envelope and bring back to the hall at 7pm.  Leave everything else for Sunday's mass collections.

Saturday Drop Off at Hall

Last Shift: When your shift is over, bring everything back to the hall at 7pm.

All other shifts:  At 7pm all volunteers should bring all vests, buckets, money envelopes and posters to the hall.  John Gray will be there to collect everything.  If you cannot make that time, please call John on his cell phone (201-819-4391) and make other arrangements.

First Shift Sunday Morning

When your shift is over, take only the money envelope home with you and leave everything else for the next shift.

Later Shifts:

Go straight to the store to relieve your predecessor.  When your shift is over, take only the money envelope home with you and leave everything for the next shift.

Mass Collections:

Just go to the church as everything will already be there.  When the collection is over, place all of the money into one envelope and bring back to the hall at 6pm.  Leave everything else for Sunday's mass collections.

Sunday Drop Off at Hall:

I will not be in Oakland most of the weekend so if you have any questions, please call John Gray on  his cell (201-819-4391).

Thanks again.

UPDATE: STILL OPEN SLOTS for the Special Children's Fund Drive which starts tomorrow!

From: Kevin Traynor [mailto:scfd@kofc5846.org]
Subject: UPDATE: STILL OPEN SLOTS for the Special Children's Fund Drive which starts tomorrow!

Brothers,

It is now less than one day away from the start of the Fund Drive and there are still a lot of empty timeslots that need filling.  Therefore, I need to fill some key timeslots so that we maximize our donations.  Below is the current sign-up sheet with open slots showing as "AVAILABLE."

Farmer's Market

Since nobody has signed up for this yet we are going to write this location off and focus on the available slots at other locations.

Bagel Shops

The bagel/bakery shops have historically generated the most donations per 2-hour timeslot than any other location.  Peak donation hours are between 7-11am Saturday and Sunday.  Friday mornings from 7-9am also generate a lot of donations because they do a big business with high school students on their way to school and people getting breakfast-to-go on their way to work.

Right now I have available timeslots Sunday mornings from 9-11 at all 3 stores and a 7-9am timeslot just re-opened Friday morning at Oakland Bagels.

Shoprite

There is one 4-6pm timeslot on Friday afternoon at Shoprite which is usually good for donations because a lot of people stop by on their way home from work to pick up groceries.

Krauzser's

What goes for the Bagel shops also goes for Krauzser's.  Friday mornings usually do a brisk high school business along with breakfast-to-go buyers.  I would like to fill the Sunday afternoon 1-3pm timeslot as well.

OLPH

There are two openings each at the 8 and 10am masses and one opening at the noon mass on Sunday.  These are the quickest and easiest collections to make because they only last about 10-15 minutes after the masses.

Time is running out so If you are interested in taking any one of these slots, please reply to this email, call or text my cell phone (973-224-9251) or e-mail me at (kevin.traynor@whipactsys.com).

PLEASE chip in for a few hours this weekend.  Don't defer and wait until later - let me know now while you have this email open and can just click on "reply."

Thank you.

2015 Bill Sullivan Memorial Special Children's Fund Drive - Update

Brothers,

It is now one week from the start of our fund drive and we have filled 50% of the available collection timeslots.  Many thanks to all who have signed up thus far.  Those of you who have yet to sign up for a slot, please look over the available slots and text or call me on my cell phone (973-224-9251) or e-mail me at kevin.traynor@whipactsys.com and tell me which slot(s) you want to sign up for.  All slots are first come first serve so if you see an available slot that you can take, call, text or e-mail me ASAP so I can lock you in.  I will then send you a confirmation e-mail or phone call giving you the date, time and collection station location.

At OLPH, I still have slots available at the 8am, 10am and noon masses on Sunday.  My goal is to have 4 people collecting at each mass; two in the front entrance, one on the side entrance and one at the Connor Hall entrance.  These slots are ideal for those who have difficulty standing in one spot for long periods of time and it allows you to "kill two birds with one stone" in that you can first attend the mass and then just walk to one of the collection stations at the end of mass.  Actual collection time is only 10-15 minutes as most everyone leaves the church right after mass so you are only standing for a short period of time.

Please consider taking a timeslot so that we can raise as much money as possible next weekend for Camp Acorn, the Mary Therese Rose Foundation and New Jersey Special Olympics.

Thank you.
